Double glazing frosted windows

The lead on this panel was also soldered to give it that traditional finish. The double glazed sealed unit is then created by adding a clear piece of glass or Pilkington K backing glass to comply with current building regulations. This option incurs extra costs so please receive a quote before ordering. The decorative glass design is created onto the clear glass or Pilkington K glass and then a piece of Pilkington obscure backing glass is attached to the back of the glass to create the double glazed unit.

This technique distorts the decorative glass design from the inside of the home because the design is viewed through an obscure piece of glass.

From the outside, the design will not look distorted because the frosted backing glass is then at the rear of the sealed unit. This option is included in the costs of all door panels and large windows if required. This image shows what effect an obscure backing glass can have on the clarity of a leaded glass design. Windows are an essential part of any home. Beautiful and practical, casement windows are the most popular choice and not only do they look stylish, but they are designed to keep your home warm, secure and quiet.

GrabLock was developed exclusively with lock experts Yale, with 3 times the locking surface area of a standard, multi-point or shoot-bolt window lock so you can be reassured your home is offered the highest level of protection and making you feel safe in your home.

Not only is there a choice of double or triple glazing, you can also choose your glass. Plus, we offer a range of decorative glass including coloured, leaded and bevelled designs.

When it comes to choosing windows many of us automatically think of white, but for some that just won't do. At Everest, we offer a beautiful range of colours and natural woodgrain finishes.

You can even add a modern twist to your windows, with dual colours, complementing both the inside and outside of your home. Our uPVC windows are available in a range of woodgrain finishes, which look as good as wood but have all the low maintenance benefits of uPVC. We use a foil - a form of laminate finish, to give the colour and texture of authentic woodgrain.

Our Smoothweld technology, available on uPVC casement, gives you an almost invisible corner joint. With clean, seam-free lines and no deep grooves that could harbour dirt, this option gives your home a beautiful, flawless aesthetic finish.

The sash on our flush casement windows close flush into the outer frame, so it sits in line with the face of the window, rather than standing proud. As well as making your windows to millimetre perfection, you can also choose where to place the handles. For example, at the bottom of the window rather than side mounted to make it easier to reach across a work surface.

Our window handles are all made of metal to give a wonderful solid feel in the hand and they come in a range of finishes to complement your home.

Options such as Georgian bars create an authentic and stylish look for your double-glazed windows, adding character to your home — a classic choice for conservation areas. Our Georgian bars are available in a choice of colours, so they can tone perfectly with the chosen finish for your new windows.

Bay windows add a projection to the wall which can be stood in, adding a stylish look from the outside and providing a great place to sit and relax, whilst enjoying panoramic views of the outside. Adding the sense of space and offering more light, due to the extra panes, whilst becoming beautiful feature by proving charming character to your home. For ventilation that you control, not to mention easy cleaning, our uPVC tilt and turn windows are a great option. Both windows open to the side, and they can both be tilted as well, which gives you less ventilation but more security.

As tilt turn windows swing inwards, it means you can clean the outer glass pane from inside your house making it much easier and safer. Wooden windows are a wonderful way to maintain the character of your home. Our timber casement windows are available in both Softwood and Hardwood, both of which are accredited by the Forestry Stewardship Council FSC and all fitted with the latest A-rated double glazing.

If you opt for timber you can choose from natural stained finishes highlighting the beauty of the grain or classic paint colours, for a more contemporary finish, so you can always be sure that your windows will blend perfectly with your home, inside and out. Our casement windows also come in Aluminium with a wide choice of colours, giving your home a wonderful modern look and slim profile. Aluminium offers low maintenance and regular sight lines are built in as standard.

The narrowness of the design still allows for the Argon filled air gap between the panes and the multi-point locking system is designed to exceed British Standards. Whether your home is Edwardian, Victorian or Georgian, sash windows are the natural choice for most period properties. They can also add a lovely traditional edge to more modern properties. Available in both uPVC and timber, our advanced sash windows are made to measure, so no worries about sticking, jamming or wobbling. One of the beauties of sash windows is the flexibility they deliver, allowing either the top or bottom section to be opened, or both at once.

Unlike etched glass where the design is added to clear glass post-production textured glass has the pattern pressed into the glass during manufacture while the glass is still in its molten state on the production line.
