You will receive further instructions once your application has been approved. You will receive an approval letter by mail with a billing notice requesting payment for the appropriate fees.

If your driver license is expired for more than 1 year you will be required to successfully pass the written exam, purchase an instruction permit, successfully pass the drive test, then purchase a driver license. Anyone may complete registration renewals with the vehicle registration, insurance, and emissions if required. Emissions Testing. Insurance companies are required by law to submit their policyholder information to the State's database by the seventh day of each month. If your insurance carrier has not provided proof of insurance to the State, you will be required to provide proof of insurance for renewal by coming into one of our offices.
Proof of insurance can provided in hard copy, faxed to one of our branch offices, or shown to our agents on your smartphone as an email attachment at the time of your visit to the DMV.
