On a side note, I have always wondered if anyone with insider connections would start a website that profiles industry developers. The main goal of site would be to clearly show who is player base friendly and who not as well as showing detailed production team histories. Think of it as a sort of a who's who of gaming. I think in this day and age supporting background information like that carries a great deal of weight in purchasing decisions; at least for me and the people I socialize with it does.
I hope you can make it so. I think it would be a very nice value added community service especially in the ECA vein. I would offer to help but I dont have the programming skill nor the requisite industry knowledge. Hell that is the reason I have never set it up. However if you want an admin or planning guy then count me in.

Dec With the new year comes the relaunch of the Immortal Machines podcast. On this podcast we introduce ourselves; Ten19, Trebor and Voodoo.
We also cover a bit of history of the site, how each of us got into PC Gaming and what we feel about the current state of PC Gaming. What if you don't care about new defensive options, or still aren't convinced about paying for what technically isn't a full fledged expansion? More money means more patches, and more new content — in the case of Sins of a Solar Empire, that has meant over 1GB of new, free content since the game launched. I was told that approximately , of their , sales were digital, which goes a long way towards promoting Impulse, and digital distribution as a whole.
Our conversation inevitably turned to piracy. Stardock's approach to the subject has won the publisher quite a bit of acclaim and notoriety in the video game industry.
The major difference is, we respect our customers. From the lack of bundled copy protection to the Gamer's Bill of Rights , the publisher has sought to minimize the impact software pirates can have on sales by creating games that are readily available for direct download, and providing an experience that is aggressively updated with regular new content.
Releasing Entrenchment as a micro-expansion is intrinsic to that approach. For fans of the game, Entrenchment means new content, for cheap. But we've all seen what EA has done with expansions for The Sims, and what's coming down the line for Spore. Will Entrenchment live up to its ideals, or fall prey to the promise of a quick buck from content-hungry fans? An official release date has yet to be announced, so we'll have to wait until late November to see.
